Printing documents
To print a document, click Print on the File menu (or press CTRL+P). You will first see the standard Windows Print dialog box. After you click OK, Expression Design displays the Print Rasterization Settings dialog box. Note that Microsoft Expression Design always rasterizes documents (turns vector paths and shapes into bitmapped images) when printing them. There are three options.
- Rasterization DPI Type or select the resolution (in dots per inch, or dpi) at which you want to print your document. The higher the value, the better quality you will get (though you never need a resolution higher than the output resolution of your device). However, lower resolutions print faster.
- Print crop mark region If you have specified crop marks in your document, you can choose to print only the area within those marks by selecting this option.
- Center page: If you select this option, your image will be centered on the printed page. Otherwise, the upper-left corner of the image is placed in the upper-left corner of the page.
The preview icon in the Print rasterization settings dialog box provides an approximation of how your image will appear on the printed page.
When you click OK, Expression Design begins to rasterize and print the document. Complex files might take a while to rasterize, so a progress bar appears in the lower-right corner of the application window to show the estimated time to completion.
